Results of the exhibition Interauto 2011

One of the most prominent and the largest automotive events of Russia, the 7th International exhibition InterAuto, was heldAugust 24 through 28, 2011 in Crocus Expo IEC.

InterAuto 2011 was supported by the Government of the Moscow region, the Ministry for Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation,the Ministry for Transport of the Russian Federation and the Association of the Russian Automakers.

More than 687 exhibitors fr om 17 countries worldwide(Russia, Italy, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Poland, Slovenia, Israel, the USA, Japan, Turkey, China, Taiwan, Cyprus, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia and Lithuania) presented the latest achievements and developments in manufacture of automotive components, spare parts, accessories and service and garage equipment.

The exhibitors were accommodated in two exhibition pavilions: Pavilion 2 (halls 5, 6, 7 and 8) and Pavilion 3 (hall 14) according to thematic location. The outdoor space opposite from the pavilions hosted also certain exhibits.

Principal thematic sections of the exhibition:

  • Hall 5: car electronics, safety and security systems;
  • Hall 6: car care products, lacquers, paint and oils;
  • Hall 7: maintenance and repair equipment and tools, tires and disks;
  • Hall 8: automotive components, spare parts;
  • Hall 14: passenger cars, components and tuning.

The 7th International exhibition InterAuto impressed their visitors and guests with a diverse and colorful entertainment program.

Yokohama Speed Festival, an unprecedented motor show, initiated and organized by Yokohama Rus was held within the frames of the exhibition.Yokohama Rus press conference devoted to the opening of the first Yokohama plant in Russia was held within the frames of the festival. The president of the world famous tire company explained the situation and expressed confidence in fast increase in assortment of Yokohama products in the Russian market. All guests of the event were invited to the entertainment show program after the official part. A breathtaking show with participation of world famous Japanese racing drivers, Team Orange drift show, Russian drivers’ show, extreme show by a special guest from Japan Ikuo Hanawa, ninja show and a spectacular geishas parade were held at the outdoor area across from Crocus Expo pavilions. Yokohama Rus corporation provided the journalists with a unique opportunity to take a ride in a race taxi – Nissan Fair Lady.

It should be noted that the entertaining program Yokohama Speed Festival is charitable and non-commercial. All raised finances will go to the fund for the victims of tragic events which had occurred in Japan.

An exhibition of Satoshi Uedas photos devoted to Japan's Fukusima nuclear meltdown, result of a catastrophic earthquake was organized within the frames of the festival.

OAO AVTOVAZ, the leader of the Russian automobile industry, presented a wide range of new models at their stand.

Haima Automobile Group o, the leader of Chinese automobile industry, unveiled their two premiers, Haima 2 and Haima 7, within the frames of the automotive show.

Press conference devoted to the Gala Opening of the show took place August 24, 2011. The press conference was traditionally opened by Arkady Zlotnikov, First Deputy Director Crocus Expo IEC. Igor Korovkin, Chief Executive Association of Russian Carmakers NP (R) and Vice-president of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs dAutomobiles/OICA, and Oshima Junichi, President OOO Yokohama Rus, spoke at the press conference.

The Gala Opening Ceremony of the exhibition took place after the press conference. The high-ranking government officials participated in the event: Dmitry Bolshakov, Vice-president of the Government of the Moscow region, Nikolay Asaul, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Alexey Rakhmanov, Director of the Department for Motor Industry and Agricultural Machine Engineering of the Ministry for Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation, Oshima Junichi, President OOO Yokohama Rus, Igor Komarov, President of OAO AvtoVAZ, and Igor Korovkin, Chief Executive Association of Russian Carmakers NP (R). Honourable guests of InterAuto 2011 wished the exhibition to "grow" up to the status of the largest branch event in the world, cut the red ribbon and officially invited the visitors to the exposition.

Avtozapchasti I Tseny magazine held an awarding ceremony for the winners of the first independent prize Automotive Component of the Year. The ceremony took place August 25, 2011 in Aquarium Hotel hall.

The 4th professional conference of Russian Automobile Dealers was held August 25 and 26, 2011. Participants of the conference had an opportunity to get comprehensive and clear view of the situation and development tendencies of the Russian and global autodealers activity and had an excellent platform to encourage professional networking. The organizer of the conference was the Association of Russian Auto Dealers (ROAD).

InterAuto proved to be one of the leading automotive events in the country wh ere all the best in automotive components segment were presented! The organizers hope that this fact underlines its perspectivity for exhibitors which had an opportunity to establish business contacts and to strengthen their positions in the segment of the market.

The exhibition has also attracted a lot of mass media representatives: about 500 representatives of 200 mass media (publishing houses, TV channels, radio stations and Internet portals) provided press coverage of the event.

The organizers express their gratitude to all participants and visitors of the 7th International exhibition InterAuto for their interest to the event and are looking forward to see them in Crocus Expo IEC at the 4th Moscow International Automobile Salon and the 8th International exhibition InterAuto which will run co-jointly August 29 through September 9, 2012.
