Opening of the Moscow International Automobile Salon and exhibition Interauto

The Gala Opening of the Moscow International Automobile Salon / MIAS 2010 and the 6th International exhibition InterAuto took place August 26, 2010 at the Crocus Expo IEC. More than 500 mass media representatives attended the event.

Journalists from the most popular radio stations (Avtoradio, Radio Chanson, Radio Mayak, Business FM, Ekho Moskvy), central TV channels (1, Rossiya, NTV, TV-Tsentr, REN TV), business and political mass media (Kommersant, Vedomosti, Komsomolskaya Pravda, Expert), specialized automotive magazines and internet portals (Za Rulem, Avtoreview, Polny Privod, Auto@mail, Autorambler.ru), informational agencies (Itar Tass, InterFax and RIA Novosti) provided press coverage of the event.

 

The Gala Opening Ceremony was hosted by Artem Kaminsky, Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, who introduced the organizers and representatives from authoritive bodies rendering support to the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2010 to the guests, exhibitors and numerous journalists:

• Serguei Kogogin, Chairman of the Committee, NP Association of OEMs of Russia, Director General OAO KAMAZ.
• Yves van der Straaten, Director General of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles / OICA.
• Laurence Massenet, Chairman of the Exhibition Committee of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles /.
• Aras Agalarov, President ZAO CROCUS INTERNATIONAL.
• David Thomas, Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee.
• Alexey Rakhmanov, Director of the Department for automotive industry of the Ministry for Industry and Commerce of the Russian Federation.

Sergey Kogogin was the first to take floor. He has thanked the organizers of the Autosalon and has expressed his admiration of the exposition: «Looking at event scale, on its level, preparation of participants, comes an absolute comprehension of the fact that we are able to organize a truly international class Autosalon. National automotive industry deserves special mentioning because it has excellently prepared to the exhibition and has demonstrated the valid power of a genuine Russian car».

«I feel real pride looking at the exhibition. It is a real indicator of all motor car manufacturers’ level which, despite post crisis economic conditions, have created improbable cars amazing with their technical characteristics» noted Oleg Morozov.

Alexey Rakhmanov has told about the results of automobile industry output for the first half of the year 2010 and its prospects in the next decade.

All present noted the high level of the Moscow Autosalon and expressed hope that the results of the event 2010 will exceed indicators of the previous edition and wished the exhibitors successful work.

The red ribbon was cut at 02:45 p.m. symbolizing the official opening of the Moscow International Automobile Salon / МIAS 2010 and the 6th International exhibition InterAuto and then visitors and guests of the event were officially invited to the exposition.
